2023 Big Bash Star

  • Draftstars are thrilled to introduce Star Tournaments, to be launched for the first time as part of the 2022-23 Big Bash League.
  • We all love a Live Final, but part of the excitement of those big events is that they’re only hosted once a year, otherwise you might get sick of seeing us. One of the best part of the Live Final is the massive prize pool up for grabs and that’s why we’re bringing you Star Tournaments. These will basically be like a Live Final contest, but without the in person event.
  • We’ll run Star Qualifier contests over an extended period for select sports and players who win first place in any of the Star Qualifier contests will receive an entry to the respective Star Final for that sport.
  • The prize structure for the Star Final contests will be slightly different from other Draftstars contests in that the prize pool is spread across all qualifiers in the Star Final, so even last place is entitled to a prize. That’s the reward for claiming a place in the Star Final. The prizes are still split based on the success of a lineup so better performing lineups will receive a greater share of the prize pool, just like other Draftstars contests.
  • The first Star Tournament will be for the upcoming season of BBL and we’re offering a $50,000 prize pool for the Big Bash Star Final.
  • Big Bash Star Qualifier Contests will be available for select BBL matches and there will be a total of 50 qualifiers across the season for the Big Bash Star Final.
  • The match for the Big Bash Star Final will be the BBL Final, which is scheduled to take place on 4 February 2023.
