frequently asked questions

How do I qualify to win?

To qualify for the ‘AFL $300K Live Final’ to win a share of Australia’s biggest ever fantasy sports prize pool of $300,000, you will need to win (i.e. come standalone 1st place) in a qualifying Live Final Qualifier Contest or tiebreaker and receive a Golden Ticket. There are 155 Golden Tickets to be won from Live Final Qualifier Contests.

How many qualifier contests are there?

There are a maximum of 155 qualifier contests in total. Tickets will be allocated to games throughout the AFL season up until round 20 at Draftstars’ discretion but also on NRL, NBA & more.

What do I win if I win a qualifier contest?

One ticket into the AFL $300K Live Final on August 15, 2021.

How many golden tickets can I have to the AFL $300K Live Final?

Maximum of 2 Golden Tickets/entries can be won per user to the AFL $300k Live Final. In the event that a user wins more than 2 Live Final Qualifier Contents, their Golden Ticket will be awarded to the second place user (subject to any applicable tiebreaker).

Can I receive a golden ticket to the AFL $300k Live Final with an unverified account?

No. All accounts winning qualifying contests must be verified before the ticket to the AFL $300k Live Final will be allocated.

Is my ticket transferable?

No. The entry ticket to the contest will be under the Draftstars username that won the qualifying ticket.

Who receives the entry ticket if a player who already holds two tickets wins another qualifying contest?

In this instance the ticket would be allocated to the player in second place, or the player tied in first. If there are players tied for second it would go into a tiebreaker for the ticket.

How many entries can I have in a qualifier contest?

Live Final Qualifying Contests may be single or multiple entry. See individual Live Final Qualifying Contest rules for the maximum number of entries allowed.

What will happen if there is a draw for first place during any qualifying rounds?

Only one Golden Ticket per Live Final Qualifying Contest will be available. In the event of a draw for first place, all players who came in first will be entered into a tiebreaker contest.

How do the tiebreakers work?

Tiebreaker contests will include all users that tied for first place in the same Live Final Qualifying Contest. The tiebreaker contest will be for a slate specified by Draftstars in its sole discretion. Eligible users will be automatically entered into the tiebreaker contest with an auto-filled lineup and be notified via email and SMS. The eligible users will need to log into their account to update their team lineup before the start of the tiebreaker contest. If the eligible user had multiple entries in the Live Final Qualifying Contest which qualified for the tiebreaker contest, they will receive an entry for each of these in the tiebreaker. Tiebreakers will continue to be run until there is a single winner remaining. In the event that there are no Draftstars contests prior to the Live Final to hold a tiebreaker, it will be at Draftstars discretion for how Golden Tickets will be allocated between those who tied for first place in the relevant Live Final Qualifier Contest. It the responsibility of all entrants to ensure that their contact details are up to date and correct. In the event an entrant who qualifies for a tiebreaker contest cannot be contacted or does not respond to Draftstars notifications, they will be entered into the tiebreaker with the auto-filled lineup.

What will happen if there is a draw for first place in the AFL $300k Live Final?

Standard contest rules apply and the prizes are shared equally between the tied teams e.g. If two players tie for first place, the 100k first prize and the 50k second prize will be split evenly with the two players to receive $75k each.

What happens with a match with no result?

Standard contest rules apply: no winning ticket allocated and entry fees will be refunded.
